Identity of man shot by Davidson County deputies revealed

We have now learned the name of a man shot and killed by Davidson County deputies over the weekend.

DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C. — The State Bureau of Investigations confirmed that 26-year-old Trent Gregory Prince from Lexington died Saturday after being shot by Davidson County deputies. 

The sheriff's office said two deputies shot and killed Prince while trying to take him into custody near Wilson and Ed Richard Road.

The Sheriff told us the man pointed a gun at deputies. Authorities say days before, Prince had driven off from a license checkpoint in a stolen car.
