GREENSBORO, N.C. — The flowers are blooming, noses are runny, and eyes are watering, the birds are singing, and the sun is shining! That means spring is finally here!

SPRING FUN EVENTS
TRIAD HISTORY DAY
What: Triad History Day is a free one-day public festival focused on Triad History at the Greensboro History Museum. The event will feature a “history hall” with displays and booths. You can learn about local archives, museums, libraries, and other historical organizations in the “History hall.” Visitors can bring photographs, and other records that help document Triad history and have them scanned at the scanning station at Triad History Day.

EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
What: Every year the Greensboro Public Library celebrates Earth Day with free fun for families. The event includes hands-on nature and eco-exhibits, hayrides, tiny house exhibits, live animals, STEM activities, eco-art, face painting, nature crafts, solar technology, garden displays, scout activities and more!
When: Saturday, April 6 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

GEARS AND GUITARS MUSIC FESTIVAL
What: Stone Temple Pilots will be the featured performer at this year’s Gears and Guitars Music Festival in Winston-Salem. The band will perform Sunday the last night of the festival held in conjunction with the Winston-Salem Cycling Classic. More bands will be added to the list. Tickets can be purchased at Etix.com or through the Gears and Guitars site. Children under 10 get in free.

WINSTON-SALEM CYCLING CLASSIC
What: The Winston-Salm Cycling Classic kicks-off Saturday, May 25 and features both professional and amateur criterium races. A full slate of amateur events and rides will be held on Sunday, May 26. The event will culminate on Monday, May 27 when more than 400 riders from all over the U.S. will compete in professional road races. All cycling events are free and open to the public. There is a registration fee for competitors.

USA GYMNASTICS TRAMPOLINE AND TUMBLING
What: Trampoline and tumbling’s 2019 Elite Challenge is headed to Winston-Salem! The three-day event features competition in trampoline, tumbling, double mini-trampoline, and synchronized trampoline for men’s and women’s senior, junior, youth elite, and open elite, and Level 10.
When: May 17 – 19

WHEELS ON THE GREENWAY
What: Wheels on the Greenway event in Greensboro. It includes bike rodeo and safety course, bike fix-it stations, free bike helmets, music, and decorate your bike.
When: May 4 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Carolina Cobras
If you love football, then you’ll love cheering for the Carolina Cobras! The 2018 NAL Champions are back in action with games from April through August! The team plays at the Greensboro Coliseum.

STRAWBERRY PICKIN
Strawberry season will be here before you know it! The harvest usually comes in at the end of April or the first of May.

ICE CREAM
We all scream from ice cream! You can't go wrong with Homeland Creamery for a sweet treat! Visit the farm for a unique and sweet experience. BUTTERFLY FARM
It's all things that flutter and is the magical world of butterflies. Check out the All-A-Flutter Butterfly Farm in High Point for an educational and fun family experience. The farm allows kids to get up close with butterflies in a truly magical way. WINERIES
North Carolina is home to 186 wineries. More than 525 individually owned grape vineyards on 2,300 acres are spread across the state, according to the NC Wine Industry. The state also ranks 11th in U.S. wine production which is why wineries should be on your to-do list! You can even do a wine trail!
