ID=5399671GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Many people will be venturing out and heading to stores, or maybe trying to get romantic Valentine's Day gifts Friday.

Two Wanted to Know who's responsible for clearing sidewalks and parking lots and who's liable if someone falls.

2 Wants to Know checked the ordinances of many cities in the Triad. All the ordinances say property or business owners are the ones who have to get out there and shovel the snow or plow the parking lot.

But, what happens if someone slips and falls?

Well it turns out liability is a slippery issue. Many insurance agents actually tell their business clients not to touch the snow at all.

Insurance agents said that's when a business or property owner becomes liable if someone slips and falls. The rule also applies to homeowners.
