WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Update: Winston-Salem police said they continued to investigate the shooting and warrants were sought for Tyshuwn Lovingood, 29. Deputies with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lovingood in Lexington without incident Thursday. Law enforcement said they recovered the gun they believe was used in the shooting.
Lovingood was charged with:
-Two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury
- Discharge a Firearm within an Enclosure to Incite Fear
- Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling Causing Serious Injury
- Felony Carrying a Concealed Gun
- Discharging Firearm in City Limits
- Simple Assault
He was was remanded to the custody of the Forsyth County Detention Center and denied bond.
Two people were injured in a shooting at a hotel in Winston-Salem on Aug. 29.
The Winston-Salem Police Department responded to a shooting call at America's Best Value Inn at 531 Akron Drive in Winston-Salem.
Officers said they found Xavier Bellamy, 27, in the hotel lobby suffering from a gunshot wound in the upper torso. He was transported to a local medical facility, and his injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
Police said Kwauan Potter, 28, was taken to a local medical facility in a private vehicle and was suffering from gunshot wound injuries to his leg. His injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
Police said it was an isolated incident, and an investigation is being conducted with the Gun Crime Reduction Unit and the Violent Firearms Investigation Team.
