Sedgefield Country Club signs gambling deal

Sedgefield Country Club and Underdog Sports plan to operate a sportsbook in Greensboro.

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. — A Triad country club recently signed a deal with a sports gambling company.

On Tuesday night, we learned more about a partnership between Sedgefield Country Club and Underdog Sports, where they plan to run a sportsbook in Greensboro.

Gambling companies are starting to set up shop in North Carolina following the new sports betting laws passed last June.

Under the new laws, online sports betting will be legal.

Also, you'll be able to gamble in person at certain sportsbooks across the state like Sedgefield Country Club and North Wilkesboro Speedway.

On Wednesday, Jan. 24, the North Carolina State Lottery Commission set March 11 as the day that legal sports wagering can begin.
