GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Greensboro Police are investigating a second robbery involving a PlayStation 4 and the website Craigslist in just about 24 hours.
Police said the latest incident happened at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of Randleman Road and W. Meadowview Road. The victim was robbed at gunpoint by two suspects while attempting to sell a PlayStation 4 that had been advertised on Craigslist, police said. Both suspects ran away from the scene with the PlayStation.
Police said no one was injured.
The suspects are described as males between 16-19 years old. Police say the suspect who was armed with a gun was wearing a purple and white beanie hat with a ball on top and ball on each of two drawstrings. The other suspect was wearing a gray letterman style jacket with a black hooded sweatshirt underneath, police said.
A similar robbery happened at a Family Dollar on Randleman Road Monday night. Police are looking for two suspects in that case as well.
Anyone with information on either incidents is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
Greensboro Police say they continue to encourage buyers and sellers to conduct transactions from online classified ad sites at police stations. If that is not possible, police advise:
- Do not meet in a secluded place, or invite strangers into your home.
- Do not go to a second location after meeting at the first location.
- Tell a friend or family member where you're going before meeting a buyer or seller.
- Trust your instincts. If something doesn't "feel" right, leave the area. You can always sell your item later, or find another item to buy.
