One employee tells WFMY News 2 she just started working at the call center about 3 months ago and was let go already.
Another says Sears is helping her with her resume before she starts looking for other jobs.
This comes after a series of closures earlier this year. In April Sears Holdings announced it would close 10 Sears and 68 Kmart stores across the country with closings also in North Carolina.
The company released the following statement about the closing:
"We announced today that our Sears Services Contract Support call center in High Point, N.C. will close in late February 2017. The work performed at the location will be transitioned to other Sears facilities between now and the anticipated closure date. The closure of this location is part of our strategy to optimize our call center operations to align with our forecasted call volumes. The number of associates is not available. Associates who are eligible will receive severance and have the opportunity to apply for open positions in the company."
The City of High Point says there were 361 jobs listed at the Sears Operations Center as of Dec. 2015.
