HIGH POINT, N.C. — North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper was on hand for an economic development announcement in High Point on Thursday.
Aetna, a CVS health business, is expanding operations in High Point. The business is projected to add 300 new employees by the end of 2020. Aetna added 80 new full-time equivalent jobs in 2018.
CVS Health, including the Aetna business, has around 9,000 employees in North Carolina. 1,230 of the employees are at 4050 Piedmont Parkway in High Point. Aetna is also adding an additional 16,000 square feet to its current High Point facilities.
"North Carolina attracts flagship operations from the nation's leading business and financial service firms for good reason," Cooper said. "Organizations like Aetna know that North Carolina's commitment to education and workforce development will provide the hard-working professionals they'll need to support their business for years to come."
Earlier Thursday, Cooper spoke on the Greensboro battery-electric bus dedication at Koury Aviation Flight Hangar.
