HIGH POINT, North Carolina — Different parts of the Triad saw different impacts of Friday afternoon's storm. In Alamance County, flood waters rose and fell, but in High Point, the impact was more damaging as winds brought down trees, and tore shingles from roofs.
Tree removal expert Scott Saintsing came to check out the damage, hoping to remove a heavy pine tree from a pickup truck and home.
"It's odd, the tree is actually very healthy. Most of the time when I saw these pines come down because we've had rain," he said.
Saintsing says you do have damage to your roof, or car, try to get it fixed right away, or at least get a tarp over it before the rain moves in this weekend.
In another part of town, crews were taking care of a big hole in an office building's roof.
"Part of our roof is over in that tree way out there, and it snapped a humongous tree right behind our office like a toothpick," explained Victoria Fonke, "And there's a downed tree behind our office. It looks like it literally just sucked the roof right off."
