ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC - The Rockingham Community College baseball team has reached the Final Four of the NJCAA Division III World Series in Greeneville, Tenn.
The eighth-seeded Eagles beat No. 7 seed St. Cloud Tech 7-6 Monday night to stay alive. The Eagles scored six runs in the sixth inning to roar back from a 5-1 deficit.
Chayce Aldridge, Timmy Smith and Walker Joyce all had two hits each. RCC pitcher Cejay Chaporro pitched six innings and got the win.
On Saturday, Rockingham beat top seed Herkimer 9-1. They fell to Oakton 12-2 in eight innings Monday, placing them in the consolation bracket of the double-elimination tournament.
Rockingham is 25-20-1 this season and plays Rowan Gloucester Tuesday at Pioneer Park Tuesday at 2 p.m.
