Rock Hill mother found guilty in death of daughter found dead in dresser

Jackleen Mullen will spend 30 years in prison after being found guilty by a jury on Tuesday.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A jury found a woman guilty of killing her four-year-old daughter in May 2020.

Jackleen Mullen, 26, was found guilty in York County Court on Tuesday. She was subsequently sentenced to spend 30 years in prison and will have to spend 25 years in prison before she can be granted parole.

India Martin, Mullen's four-year-old daughter, was found dead at Mullen's home on May 26, 2020. Rock Hill police arrested Mullen and Audrevious Williams, Mullen's boyfriend, for the child's death. Investigators said Martin was found dead inside of a bedroom dresser drawer.

Note: WCNC instituted a policy in March 2021 regarding the broadcast or posting of mugshots.

WCNC will only air or post a mugshot if the person has been formally charged with a crime and in a few other cases. The exceptions include: If it appears the person could be a danger to themselves or others or if they are wanted by authorities; to differentiate between people with a common name; if the photos could encourage more victims to come forward. The news-editorial leadership may also decide to use a mugshot based on the severity of the crime(s) committed and/or the level of public interest in the crime and ensuing criminal proceedings.

WCNC Charlotte is choosing to show the mugshots of the suspects in this case because Jackleen Mullen was convicted of murder.
