Rev. Al Sharpton visits International Civil Rights Center and Museum

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A prominent Civil Rights leader wrapped up a trip to Greensboro.

Reverend Al Sharpton spoke at the AME Zion national conference at the Koury Convention Center this week.

He toured the International Civil Rights Center and Museum with Guilford County Commissioner Chair Skip Alston.

Alston is one of the co-founders of the site.

Sharpton was the 2004 recipient of the International Civil Rights Center and Museum's highest annual award, the Alston/Jones International Civil and Human Rights Award.

Alston said he and Sharpton used to work together and are longtime friends.
