REIDSVILLE, N.C. — This good dog is going to be rocking some new gear soon!
K9 Harley with the Reidsville Police Department will receive a bullet and stab protective vest with "In memory of Cooper" embroidered on the side.
The vest was sponsored by Mike Burroughs of Reidsville, NC, and was provided by the non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s.
This body armor is potentially lifesaving for K9s in the field. Not only that but it's custom-fitted for every four-legged officer.
According to the Reidsville Police Department, all U.S. dogs that are 20 months and older and that are employed with law enforcement are able to participate in the program. K9s with expired vests are also eligible.
You can see K9 Harley in the new gear in eight to ten weeks, according to the police department.
