GREENSBORO, N.C. — This is one of those 'check your fridge for this product right now' stories. Multiple brands of organic carrots and baby carrots are being recalled. They are no longer in the stores, so the possible danger of E-coli is only in homes.
The organic carrots are grown by Grimmway Farms and they supply carrots to major brands like Trader Joe's, Wegmans, Target's Good and Gather brand, Nature's Promise, Market Side from Walmart, and 365, sold at Whole Foods.
The recall impacts whole carrots between the dates of August 14th and October 23rd and baby carrots with a "best if used by" date of September 11 through November 14.

The CDC confirms there have been 39 cases of E-coli contamination linked to these carrots across 18 states. The majority of cases are in Minnesota, New York, and Washington, but NC has a couple of confirmed cases as well.
Again, the FDA confirms carrots aren't being pulled off the shelves, the carrots impacted are by now, in fridges at home. If you have the recalled carrots you need to throw them out or return them to the store for a refund.
