RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies are asking for the public's assistance locating a man who went missing in Randolph County.
Randolph County deputies said they responded to Interstate 74, in the area of the Cedar Square exit, between mile marker 83 and 85, on a report of a missing person on April 13 shortly before 9:30 p.m.
When deputies arrived, witnesses said Jonathan “Michael” Holmes of King began acting abnormally while they were traveling.
The witnesses said they stopped the car near the Cedar Square exit, and Holmes got out of the car with a gun.
Holmes was last seen near the area of I-74 and the Cedar Square exit.
He is around 5’10 and weighs 175 pounds. He has blue eyes, brown hair, and a thick beard.
Deputies said Holmes has a tattoo of “Greyson” on the back of his right forearm and a black Chinese symbol with red shadowing on the back of his right upper arm.
Holmes was last seen wearing a burgundy hoodie, tan pants, black socks, and no shoes.
Deputies believe he may be suffering from a cognitive impairment and acting abnormally.
Deputies, along with emergency services personnel utilizing drones, and systematic search patterns, conducted an extensive search of the area(s) on April 16, April 25, April 29, and May 16.
Randolph County Sheriff's Office said they received a tip that Holmes may have been seen in New Jersey.
