Police said 19-year-old still missing after Quarry Park search in Winston-Salem

Kaedian Allen went missing on May 31 as he was a passenger in a car where the driver had tried to flee from police.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — UPDATE: Winston-Salem police said Allen is still missing after the Quarry Park search had been completed Thursday. The investigation is ongoing. The park is set to reopen Friday evening.

Quarry Park will be closed on Wednesday to continue the search for 19-year-old Kaedian Allen in Winston-Salem.

Allen has been missing since Friday, May 31. He was a passenger in a car where the driver had tried to flee from police.

The driver was later arrested at Quarry Park, but Allen was not found despite using a drone with thermal capabilities, camera surveillance footage, and a perimeter search.

On Sunday, June 2, police were notified by Allen's family that he had not returned home.

On Monday, June 3, officers worked alongside Winston-Salem Fire Department Heavy Rescue and the High Point Dive Team to search the quarry by boat and used a submersible drone. They still could not find Allen.

Allen is described as having dreadlocks and braces. He is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs 170 pounds. He was last seen in the area of 1790 Quarry Road with an unknown direction of travel.

He was last seen wearing a black over-red Nike jacket, dark pants, and slides.

Police are not seeking charges regarding the May 31 incident.

Winston-Salem police will be continuing their efforts alongside other agencies in the area. The additional search was initiated due to the discovery of new resources and technology made available to us through our federal and local partners.

Police say no foul play is suspected. A notification will be made when the park is reopened to the public. They are requesting assistance from our community in sharing information regarding this missing person case.

Anyone with information regarding Allen's location is encouraged to contact WSPD's non-emergency line at 336-773-7700.
