GREENSBORO, N.C. — Your dog could be allowed back into breweries.
Guilford County representative Jon Hardister drafted a bill to clearly define what a taproom is.
Hardister says taprooms shouldn't be held to the same standards as restaurants, if they don't prepare food.

This conversation started last month after Joymongers Brewing Company posted on social media that dogs wouldn't be allowed inside anymore.
According to state law, if a place serves food or drink in any kind of glassware that gets cleaned and reused, the business needs a food service establishment permit.

The cleansing process requires a special sink and dishwasher - that means many bars and taprooms also fall under that category, and if you have a permit, pets are not allowed inside.
Under Hardister's bill, taprooms would decide if pets can come inside or not.
