WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem company is pausing all manufacturing until the middle of next year, according to a press release from the company's website.

ProKidney said an audit revealed some flaws with the company's plan to distribute a new treatment.

ProKidney’s approach utilizes a patient’s kidney cells in an effort to work to treat chronic kidney disease.

Earlier this year we told you about the hundreds of jobs the company is expected to bring to Greensboro and Winston-Salem in the coming years.

The manufacturing pause isn't suppose to effect those plans as the company said it has enough funds to last into the fourth quarter of 2025.
