EDEN, N.C. — Update: Power has been restored, according to Eden police.
Several people are in the dark, including three schools after a power outage in Eden Thursday.
Eden police said the central area is experiencing a major power outage.
Officers said Morehead High School, Holmes Middle School, and Central Elementary are without power.
Police said the students are not in any danger, but additional officers will remain at the schools until power is restored for extra safety.
Officers said Duke Energy has been informed of the outage and are currently working to restore power.
