BURLINGTON, N.C. – An argument over a barking dog quickly got out of hand between two neighbors.

Burlington Police say a man was at a neighbor's house trying to stop the argument but instead became the target of the fight.

Investigators say Terry Gwynn, was at the house on Louis Street late Tuesday night when Billy Lipscomb, Jr., attacked him. First, Lipscomb hit Gwynn with a cane knocking him unconscious. But police say as soon as Gwynn regained consciousness, Lipscomb knocked him unconscious again using a cinder-block.

Police say both men were transported to Alamance Regional Medical Center. Police say Gwynn was treated for cuts to his head and also swelling to his left cheek. Lipscomb had an injury to his nose.

Police arrested Lipscomb for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and placed him in the Alamance County Jail on a $75,000 bond.
