Greensboro police said they responded to the crash on the 3800 block of North Elm Street.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Police said a person is dead after a crash on North Elm Street in Greensboro.

Greensboro police said they responded to the crash on the 3800 block of North Elm Street Friday around 8:17 p.m.

Officers said Dylan Maurice Gallaga, 20, of Manns Harbor, NC was driving a Mercedes Benz coupe north on North Elm Street near I-840. The Mercedes also had two passengers: the vehicle’s owner, Vincenzo Antonio Brevetti, 21, of Southern Shores, NC, and Jacob Ryan Benvenuto, 20, of Plainville, Conn.

Officers said the Mercedes crashed into a Hyundai Azera sedan driving north on Elm Street just south of Lake Jeanette Road.

The Hyundai was driven by Melissa Dee Harvey, 46, of Greensboro.

The initial crash caused the Hyundai to run off the road to the right, crash into a tree, and overturn.

The Mercedes ran off the road to the right and crashed into a different tree.

Police said Brevetti died at the scene from injuries from the crash.

Officers said Gallaga, Benvenuto, and Harvey suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to a hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
