BURLINGTON, N.C. — A man was killed after being hit by a train in Burlington around 1 p.m. on Monday, May 13, according to the Burlington Police Department.
The incident happened on a railroad overpass at Fisher Street and Webb Avenue, police said.
Police said David Prescott McConico, 57, was walking north along the tracks. The train approached from the same direction at approximately 40 mph.
Police said the train tried to alert McConico before the collision.
The circumstances around the death are currently being investigated.
