GREENSBORO, N.C. — A pedestrian was hit and killed Sunday night in Greensboro by a man suspected of driving while impaired.
Police say Ronnie Matthews was driving south on Franklin Blvd near Naco Road and hit a pedestrian and left the scene. Matthews later returned, police said. The crash happened around 11 p.m., according to police.
Officers charged him with DWI, Felony Hit and Run and Felony Death By Vehicle in the accident.
Police haven't released the name of the person killed.
Matthews' bond was set at $200,000. Matthews is in the custody of the Guilford County Jail.
