HIGH POINT, N.C. (WFMY) -- Are you a High Point Regional Hospital patient?
Do you have a bill with them?
Then you may be in luck. UNC Health Care is trying to settle as many patient accounts as possible before High Point Regional transitions to Wake Forest Baptist.
If you have an outstanding balance, they're willing to slash 70 percent of your bill, if you can pay the rest of it by August 15.
If you qualify, most, if not all patients got a letter.
You just have to have a balance from services performed before June 1st, it only applies to the money *personally* owed by the patient, and it doesn't include services from the Hayworth Cancer Center.
So, if you have $5,000 in medical bills -- they will discount your bill by $3,500 as long as you can pay the remaining $1,500 within the next 15 days.

UNC Health Care sent WFMY News 2 this statement about the offer.
"With ownership of High Point Regional hospital transitioning to Wake Forest Baptist, UNC Health Care is seeking to settle as many accounts as possible prior to the transaction close. This is a common practice within the industry. High Point Regional patients with balances outstanding are eligible for a one-time, 70% discount if the remaining 30% of the balance for which they are personally liable is paid in full prior to August 15, 2018.This is a one-time opportunity for patients to resolve their outstanding balances for services received prior to June 1, 2018 at an attractive and substantially discounted rate. It is our hope that the discount offered will be a win-win situation for our patients and the UNC Health Care system. "
