20 people displaced after fire at James Avenue Apartments in Thomasville

Thomasville fire crews said two residents were hurt while trying to leave their burning apartment.

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Twenty people are displaced after a fire at a housing authority apartment complex in Thomasville. 

Fire crews said an adult and a child received minor injuries while escaping their burning apartment. 

Davidson County EMS says the fire happened just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of James Avenue, where a combination of two-story townhomes and duplexes are located in James Avenue Apartments. 

It is unclear what caused the fire.
