WHITSETT, N.C. — Lola Chisholm is a bit biased when talking about her new home and neighborhood.
"It's a beautiful area," she said. "I love it, nice and quiet."
The Whitsett home is perfect in so many ways – but Lola did need to hire a fence company. A company came out to her property in February and did measurements. She said they told her it would take a couple of months to finish after all the paperwork was sent in.
The fence cost $6,000, but month after month went by, and no fence was put up. Lola called and called. Even five mon ths after paying, her yard was still not fenced.
"It was just one excuse after another, one after another ..." she said. "I’m making monthly payments for something I don’t have."
It was about then when Chisholm called WFMY News 2. No one from the fence company was helping. At this point, she couldn't even remember all the people she spoke to in hopes of resolving the issue.
"It was like I was getting the runaround."
Lola wanted out, understandably. So we contacted the company, and after our call, the company agreed to refund her every penny.
"I thank you for help, everything you did helping me with this," Chisholm said.
Lola still hasn't hired another fence company, but having money back in her pocket is a good first step.
