HIGH POINT, North Carolina — Open Door Ministries in High Point is feeding more families during the government shutdown.

Stephanie White, Food Pantry Coordinator for Open Door Ministries, says they've seen an increase in food demand as of late.

White says normally, Open Door Ministries might serve anywhere between 10 to 15 families a day. But lately, they've been helping 18 or more families daily.

She says it's been challenging to keep up the pantry with the growing need, but they are making sure families will not go hungry.

Open Door Ministries in High Point is accepting items for their food pantry including:

  • Canned goods
  • Bread
  • Rice
  • Mac-n-cheese
  • Tuna
  • Cereal

Open Door Ministries is located at 400 N. Centennial Street.
