WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A man is dead after a crash in Winston-Salem Wednesday night, police say.
Winston-Salem police identified 34-year-old Clarence Brim as the driver who died in the crash.
Officers said just after 8 p.m., they responded to the crash on South Stratford Road at Hillcrest Center Circle where they found two cars involved.
Amin Faisal Alshaif, 39, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Brim died on the scene.
Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, Alshaif was going north on South Stratford Road in the northbound lanes. Brim was going south on South Stratford Road in the southbound lanes.
Alshaif was trying to make a left turn on Hillcrest Center Circle in front of Brim and collided.
This is the first traffic-related death of 2024 compared to 0 during the same time in 2023.
