LEWISVILLE, NC - A distillery that was founded in 1768 closed its doors due to prohibition, 100 years later it's open for business.
Food, music, and of course whiskey whiffed through the halls of Old Nick Williams Company Farm & Distillery on Saturday at it's grand opening.
"This is a dream come true,” said Zeb Williams, co-owner of Old Nick, and a fifth generation distiller. “We are thrilled to be producing this legendary whiskey in the same way as our great, great, great granddad did, and we're committed to maintaining that same level of quality and craftsmanship that once made our brand known around the world.”
The event featured tours, samples, music, and raffles - but they also wanted to help the community as well.
10% of each ticket purchased to go on a tour of the distillery was donated to the Forsyth County K-9 Police Unit and the Forsyth Humane Society. The proceeds from the raffle will be split between the two organizations.
