STOKES COUNTY, N.C. — It’s like the movie, The Hangover except it’s not Las Vegas or a city, it's Hanging Rock State Park.
It was still a very wild night just not in a casino playing blackjack but actually being in the wild with nature.
There was fear, just not the “I’m going to be killed” kind of scared but like the "What if we never find the parking lot again," nervousness.
And so the story goes, a groom and his best groomsmen got lost while hiking at Hanging Rock. The group decided to make a spontaneous hike Wednesday at the park in Stokes County.
However, things got a little dicey after sunset like most bachelor party nights. They couldn’t find the trail back down. That’s when the park superintendent went up to save the evening.
Guess what happened next? Just like in the movie, 'The Hangover,' the guys ended up rescuing themselves, eventually.
And like another scene from the movie, the groom and groomsmen did take a photo--just one selfie with the Robin Riddlebarger, the Park Superintendent.
Just remember, in the era of social media, what happens at Hanging Rock doesn’t always stay at Hanging Rock.
Congrats on the upcoming wedding this weekend and we recommend you take a GPS on your honeymoon!
