WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A Northwest Middle School student is being charged after making violent threats against the school in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County deputies said.
Deputies said social media posts were shared and threatening acts of violence were made against the school. The student can't be identified due to their age. They have been charged with one count of communicating threats of mass violence on school property.
The principal has notified parents and guardians of the incident.
"As we stated earlier this week, the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office takes all threats, against our schools and community, seriously," Chief Deputy Henry Gray Jr. wrote in a statement. "I cannot stress this enough, whether these photos were taken at home or if they are copied from a website or social media, you will be charged."
This is the third student to face charges.
