GREENSBORO, N.C. — More than a dozen North Carolinians have died from the flu this month.
The State Department of Health And Human Services updated the number of flu-related deaths for this flu season Thursday.
The department says 13 people died from the flu in North Carolina between February 10 and February 16. That brings the total death toll this season to 68.
Flu season begins around October and ends in the middle of the May. Experts warn that the best way to protect against the flu is the flu vaccine.
