New details in deadly shooting outside Sherry's A Private Club in Clemmons

Forsyth Co. Sheriff's Office said the two men shot at each other during an altercation

CLEMMONS, N.C. — Two people are dead after a shooting happened in front of Sherry's A Private Club in Clemmons on Sept. 4, Forsyth County Sheriff's Office says. The investigation has now closed.

Deputies said Johnny Lee Spencer, 56, and Jimmie Carlton Radford, 63, were arguing in front of the club on Stadium Drive. As the argument was ending, Spencer got a gun from his car and shot Radford. Radford then got his gun and shot back in self-defense. 

Spencer died shortly after the incident at the hospital and Radford died on Sept. 8, deputies say. 

No charges will be sought for the incident as they both are dead.
