GREENSBORO, N.C. — North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (NC A&T) announced Monday that the college has been recognized on Money Magazine's new Best Colleges list as the "most affordable doctoral research university in America."
The university says this is the second consecutive year they've been given the title. According to their release, North Carolina A&T's cost is the lowest of all doctoral universities at $20,100. Ninety-two percent of the school's first-year students receive financial aid, which routinely brings their cost of attendance down to $9,700. This number is decreased for low-income students.
North Carolina A&T is the largest historically black university in the country. They've not increased their in-state undergraduate tuition in almost a decade.
