CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte police are asking the public for help identifying an abandoned infant.
Officers say they responded to a call after a woman said she left her infant with a man Thursday night.
The man told police he had met a woman with her infant around 9 p.m. Thursday while she was walking through the Lakewood Manor complex on Watson Drive. Police say the woman asked him to watch the baby and then never returned.
"The female (possibly the mother) is described as a young, dark skinned black female, approximately 170 to 180 lbs and was last seen wearing shorts and a tank top," CMPD says.
