RALEIGH, N.C. -- The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles has posted the 2014 Driver's Handbooks in English and Spanish online, and at driver license offices across the state. The new edition contains 88 pages of rules, laws, signs, signals and tips for drivers. The handbooks contain the information required on written knowledge tests given to first-time drivers.
Books are also issued through the Department of Public Instruction and driver education classes. Driver's Handbooks have been published for decades as a study tool for first-time drivers, newcomers to North Carolina and those refreshing their knowledge about the rules of the road.
Chapters cover different types of permits and licenses issued and how to obtain them, as well as basic driving skills, traffic signs and signals and driver and passenger safety.
