GREENSBORO, N.C. — We are learning more about NC A&T State's efforts to expand student housing.
University officials tell us it has around 14,000 students enrolled and about 6,000 students who live on-campus.
Director of Design and Construction Bill Barlow said the university broke ground on the Bluford Residence Hall in February and it is on track for success.
"We haven't broke ground on a new residence hall in about 20 years and about a third of our facilities are 1960's vintage buildings," Barlow shared.
He said the Bluford Residence Hall is about 30% complete in construction. It not only allows more students to live on campus but it also provides job opportunities.
As construction is underway, students and alumni are partnering with Samet Corporation and Cate Services.
"We're excited about it. It is going to meet the needs of our students and help us as we go forward," Barlow said.
The project is expected to be completed in Spring of 2026.
