Troopers: 2 airlifted after head-on crash on NC 49 in Randolph County

The crash site was closed for three hours for investigation.

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Four people were injured in a head-on crash on NC-49 in Asheboro around 7 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10, according to North Carolina State Troopers.

Tracy Bryant Hill, 35, was driving northeast while William Davis Duvall, 45, was driving southwest on NC-49 near Oak Hollow Drive.

According to troopers, Hill drove across the centerline and crashed with Duvall head-on.

Hill and a passenger from Duvall's car were airlifted to a hospital. Duvall and another passenger from his car were taken to a local hospital, according to troopers.

Hill was charged with carless and reckless driving.

The crash site was closed for three hours for investigation.
