National Tire Safety Week | Tire Safety

National Tire Safety Week is from June 24-July 3, 2024.

NORTH CAROLINA, USA — National Tire Safety Week (NTSW) is an annual initiative that aims to educate drivers about the easy, yet essential steps for proper tire care, use and maintenance to ensure road safety.

National Tire Safety Week is from June 24-July 3, 2024.

AAA expects to rescue nearly 800,000 stranded drivers beginning Saturday through next Sunday.

The most common problems AAA expects  to rescue drivers from are dead batteries, lockouts, and flat tires.

WFMY News 2 spoke with a local car dealer owner who stresses the importance of tire safety.

“Yeah, I mean, if you start running them too low they can actually have what they call a tire blowout. We've all seen that person on the side of the road. It can be a pretty severe cost by not maintaining it for sure," said Josh Hudson, owner of Hudson Autoworks.

Lastly, Hudson said it's best practice to always ask your service provider to check the basics when it comes to preventative maintenance.
