MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — An elderly woman was killed after being hit by a car in a Mount Airy Walmart parking lot on March 31, according to Mount Airy police.
At 6:11 p.m., police were called to a Walmart on Rockford Street.
According to police, Bonnie Smith Hennings, 86, was hit by a car in the parking lot.
Hennings was airlifted to a local hospital. She died from her injuries on April 1, police said.
The driver of the car was not injured.
Police said the collision is still under investigation.
