GREENSBORO, North Carolina — Not getting a paycheck isn't easy on any family.
Many people recognize that, and are doing what they can to help.
Temple Emanuel in Winston-Salem decided the best way they could give back is by buying $20 Target Gift cards for every TSA agent at PTI Airport in Greensboro.
"Myself and so many of us feel really helpless -- what can we do? I'm not on the floor of the house of representatives, I can certainly call my representative but what can I do for somebody? I would say the moment is really kind of humbling. To hear those personal stories of what people are going through to make ends meet," said Mark Cohn, the Rabbi at Temple Emanuel.
Some of those workers are carpooling to a job they won't even get paid for.
A lot of this can be hard to wrap your head around. They're figuring out bills, and gas, and how to live without pay.
That is why SkyZone Greensboro also decided to give back, by letting Federal Employees come with their families and jump for one hour for free.
"Their reaction is just really thanking us and an understanding of their tough situation they're going through right now. These furloughed employees might be in a tough financial situation but this at least gives them an opportunity to not worry about that at least for an hour of the day," said Stephanie Stierle, the Marketing and Events Manager for SkyZone Greensboro.
While many might be struggling right now, it seems like neighbors in the Triad are doing everything they can to help out.
