Moped driver dies in Winston-Salem crash, police say

When officers arrived, they found a moped and a car involved in a crash.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — A person who was driving a moped is dead following a crash involving a car in Winston-Salem

Police said it happened Friday night around 7:00 p.m. that's when officers responded to a car crash along Liberty Street and Akron Drive.

According to police, when officers got there, they found a moped and a car involved in a crash. 

Police said the moped's driver, Prentice McMillian was pronounced dead at the scene. 

WSPD Traffic Enforcement Unit conducted a preliminary investigation that found the moped was driving east of Akron Dr. and did not stop at the red light. They said the car was traveling south on Liberty Street with a green light and the car was unable to stop, colliding into the moped. 

The car's passengers were not injured.
