EDEN, NC (WFMY) - A woman was charged with Misdemeanor Child Abuse Monday after police say she left her two children in a hot car Monday night in Eden.
Police responded to the Walmart parking lot around 7:50 p.m. and found the children, ages 2 and 8, had been left in the car for approximately 25 minutes. Both were taken to UNC Rockingham hospital due to heat exposure. Neither child was injured or physically affected from the heat.
Heather Renee Wilson, 28, was arrested and charged with two counts of Misdemeanor Child Abuse. She's being held in the Rockingham County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
