ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. -- Three arrests have been made in the death of a Rowan County teen.
The Rowan County Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Michael Elijah Earley went missing from his home in Salisbury on Sunday. He was found dead and dismembered Wednesday evening.
19-year-old Carlos Rosas, of Rockwell, was charged with murdering Earley, and destroying and hiding his remains. Deputies say 18-year-old Madison Drew Harrington and 19-year-old Lauren Grimes helped him hide the body. They were each charged with accessory after the fact.
Investigators found out Earley was going to meet Rosas to sell him marijuana. During the drug deal, investigators say there was an argument which led to a fight between the two, and that's when Rosas assaulted and killed Earley. Investigators say Harrington and Grimes were there when it all went down.
They say Rosas then took Earley's body to a secluded area, where he partially dismembered him, and buried the remains.
Rosas is in jail under no bond. Harrington and Grimes are in jail under $500,000 secured bonds.
