McMichael High School not a credible threat, Rockingham Co. Sheriff’s Office says

Rockingham County Schools said all students are safe and the perimeter was set up out of an abundance of caution.

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. — The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office said McMichael High School students are safe after they secured and released a perimeter out of an abundance of caution.

The sheriff’s office said school staff received a call earlier Wednesday, but they said it was not a credible threat to the school after investigating.

Rockingham County Sheriff’s deputies will remain at the school until all students have left campus.
