SURRY COUNTY, N.C. — Emergency crews are searching for a man who saved a family at the Ararat River and Yadkin River juncture on April 28.
The Surry County Sheriff's Office said a 44-year-old man helped save some family members struggling in the water around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday.
Deputies said in the process, he slipped into the water and never resurfaced.
The sheriff's office said crews are in search and recovery.
