HIGH POINT, N.C. — State troopers responded to a head-on motorcycle-involved crash in High Point Sunday.

Just after 7:50 p.m., troopers arrived at NC-62 near Coe Avenue in Guilford County.

Troopers said Daniel Joshua Welch, 30, was on his motorcycle going east on NC-62 when he went left of center and hit Kelley Dianna Dowd, 40, head-on as she was driving west.

Dowd was not hurt in this crash. Welch was severely injured and taken to a nearby hospital.

Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
