Man Identified After Being Found Shot Several Times at High Point Chicken Restaurant: Police

Police say the man had wounds in the face, arms, right leg and back. He was found lying in on the sidewalk.

HIGH POINT, N.C. — A man is in critical condition after being shot early Wednesday morning near a High Point chicken restaurant.

Around 12:15, Officers found 33-year-old Lee Donnell Smith Jr. with several gunshot wounds in front of Pantry Fried Chicken on East Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Police say Smith had wounds in the face, arms, right leg and back and was lying in on the sidewalk.

Smith was taken to Moses Cone Hospital, where he was placed in ICU. Police say Smith's vehicle, in the parking lot of the business, had several bullet holes. Smith carries a Jamestown address.  

Witnesses said a man dressed in black walked from Hendrix Street to the man's car, fired several shots and ran back to Hendrix Street.
