Man dies after jumping out of a moving SUV, Greensboro police say

The Greensboro Police Department said Byron Allred died after jumping out of an SUV that was driving along Grandover Parkway.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A man died two days after jumping out of a moving vehicle Friday, according to Greensboro police. 

The Greensboro Police Department said they received a call about a person who jumped out of a Nissan Pathfinder traveling westbound on Grandover Parkway between Dover Park Road and Trailwood Drive. 

Investigators said 52-year-old Byron Allen jumped from the back right seat of the SUV for "an unknown reason and without warning," around 9 p.m.

Police said Allred suffered life-threatening injuries and died Sunday night.

The Greensboro Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit responded and is investigating.
