GREENSBORO, N.C. – A man assaulted in Greensboro early Sunday morning has died from his injuries.
Police have identified the man as 28-year-old Warren Portis, from Winston-Salem.
Investigators say Portis and an acquaintance were walking in downtown Greensboro on Friendly Avenue around 2:30 a.m. when three men assaulted them.
EMS took Portis to the hospital, where he later died.
